1 cup full cream milk
4 eggs (Yolks separated)
350ml thickened cream
1 tbsp cornflour
1/3 cup raw sugar
100g chocolate shavings
How to Make
Step 1. Combine milk and cream in a sauce pan. Add vanilla extract and place it on heat for 5 minutes. Do not let it boil.
Step 2. After 5 minutes, remove the saucepan from heat. Add the egg yolks, cornflour and sugar in a large heatproof bowl and whisk until combined. Gradually pour hot milk mixture over the egg yolk mixture whisking constantly.
Step 3. Return the mixture to the saucepan and add chocolate over low heat. Stir constantly until the custard starts to bubble and coats the back of the spoon. Do not let it boil.
Step 4. Serve warm of cold – it goes really well with strawberries, ice cream or even as a topping to milk shakes! Or eat it by itself with a little whipped cream – it tastes amazing either way!
