Taking place for the first time after a year’s absence, the Cake Bake & Sweets Show made a jubilant return, with over 29,000 visitors descending on both the Sydney and Melbourne shows.
Re-launched under new management via global events company GL Exhibitions, the 2018 Cake Bake & Sweets Show welcomed more than 200 Australian and international businesses to the show floor. The diverse range of exhibitors meant that visitors were truly spoilt for choice, with the show spanning everything from sweet and savoury treats, to the latest in cooking and decorating all available via interactive stands, hands-on sessions, and demonstrations.
Not only did the show provide visitors the opportunity to indulge, the country’s sweetest event also hosted 23 celebrity chefs including famed international chefs Eric Lanlard, Siba Mtongana and Lorraine Pascale, who were joined by local stars Katherine Sabbath, Kirsten Tibballs, Miguel Maestre, Anna Polyviou and Adriano Zumbo to demonstrate their mouth watering dishes.Over 300 cake enthusiasts also gathered to take part in 42 dedicated cake-making workshops across the two shows. Attendees were given the opportunity to get hands-on and learn from some of the industry’s biggest names, including owner of City Cakes in NYC, Benny Rivera, and stars of the hit show Extreme Cake Makers, Rosie Dummer and Molly Robbins.
Event Director and Exhibition Portfolio Director, James Laing, said, “We are thrilled at the success of Cake Bake & Sweets Show’s return. Re-launching this popular show after an absence in the market, and in new venues, was not without its challenges – but we saw solid support from both the industry and the general public. We are already working on delivering bigger and better events in 2019.”
The Cake Bake & Sweets Show will return to Sydney 8-10 November 2019 and 29 November – 1 December Melbourne 2019.
