Chocolate filled Crossants

Ingredients
1 large egg
1 tablespoon water
Puff Pastry Sheets (1 sheet), thawed
2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or small chocolate chunks
Chocolate Sause and chocolate shavings to decorate

Method
Step 1.
Heat the oven over 180 degrees Celsius. Line two baking trays with non-greasy baking sheets.
Step 2. In a small bowl, beat the egg and water with a fork and set aside.
Step 3. Unfold the pastry sheet and lightly dust the top with flour. Use a rolling pin to roll the sheet into a square. Cut the pastry squares in half then cut each half into 4 equally size rectangles. Cut each rectangle diagonally into two triangles.
Step 4. Place 2 teaspoons of chocolate chips in the centre of each triangle then slowly, starting at the wider end of the pastry, roll each triangle.
Step 5. Place each croissant seam-side down so the tip of the triangle is tucked under the rolled croissant. Bend the edges creating a crescent shape. Lighting brush the tops of the croissants with egg wash then place them on the baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 6. Add chocolate sauce and chocolate shavings on top of the warm croissants and serve! Best served when warm.

Top Tip:
If you use store bought puff pastry sheets instead of making the dough at home, the process is going to be soooo much easier for you! When using store bought puff pastry, make sure to thaw them completely before making the croissants. Before baking, keep the puff pastry sheets in room temperature for approx 40 minutes.
